Hidden and Visible – a workshop in the surroundings of Myllärintalo
In the workshop, costume designer Amita Kilumanga and dramaturg Tarja Sahlstedt invite you to explore hiding. During the workshop, exercises will be carried out where participants can hide or become glaringly visible. For example: Imagine that something in the branches of a birch tree is the wrong color. Is it a twig? Or a squirrel, waiting, hiding, already having noticed you a long time ago? In this short workshop, we will venture together into the surroundings of Myllärintalo to look for places of hiding and revealing. Participants will be provided with materials, such as fabrics, to help.
The workshop was created during a few days of residency-like work and is part of the City of Turku's Kulttuurin välitilat project, through which the city offers spaces for artists to use. The workshop is not a performance but an inspiring practice – come just as you are. After the workshop, there is a short, informal discussion session that you can participate in if you wish.
